About MaryMeg

Helping you move from what is NOW to what is NEXT.

MaryMeg Robsahm holds a master’s in Counseling Psychology from Washington State University and is certified as a Life Coach by the Coach Training Institute. She is also certified in Grief and End of Life Care specialties from University of Wisconsin, Madison. A retired board-certified Oncology and End of Life care licensed massage therapist of 25 years, she has deep compassion, knowledge and insight into the transitions we make. Prior to her massage career, she spent 20 years in Counseling and Leadership positions in Higher Education. For the past 10 years she has been a Grief Counselor and Administrator. She recently opened Mercy’s Light Life Coaching LLC, specializing in Loss and Life Transitions: Helping you move from what is Now to what is Next.

In addition to my professional background, I have many, many personal experiences of grief and loss that inform our work together. One example I like to share with clients is my “billboard moment.” A few days after my own life-threatening diagnosis, I was driving to see a hospice client. I was recalling my father, who survived five different cancers six out of seven times in his life. I blurted out to no one but myself, “How did you do it, Dad??!! What do I do now??” Seconds later, a billboard—yes, a literal billboard—read: “You will figure it out!” I burst out in laughter and tears. Barely a minute later, another billboard across the highway read: “Live your dreams.”

That was 9 years ago. In those moments I knew that I would indeed figure it out. That my life was not over or done. That in fact, I needed to heal and reshape how I was living. Grief and loss ask us to rediscover what is meaningful and significant in our lives.

My coaching focuses on your experiences. I use a psychoeducational, reflective, strength-based process that includes activities between our sessions to help you determine next best steps. This may include reading, journaling, expressive arts, or other activities that fit your needs and style of grieving. Your faith practices can also be included if you choose.

Coaching, while therapeutic in nature, does not include diagnosis or deep therapy. Always confidential, my goal is to support your personal development and growth: helping you move from what is now to what is next for you.
